Another helium balloon flight
March 24th we launched another helium ballon, now reaching an altitude of 24km. Maximum distance was 432km to Southhampton.

On march 15th 2017 we launched a helium filled balloon to perform some high-altitude measurements. We reached a maximum altitude of 22.6km!
Gateway at Gerbrandy Tower in IJsselstein
We now have an experimental LoRa gateway (Kerlink) installed in the Gerbrandy Tower in IJsselstein, at an initial altitude of 100m. The omnidirectional antenna has been replaced by a panel antenna facing towards the city of Utrecht.

To map The Things Network LoRaWAN coverage in Utrecht, we built a node with GPS receiver that transmits its location periodically. When a packet is received by The Things Network, the exact location is plotted on the map, together with the signal strength. The blue circles show the gateway locations (1km diameter).
